While Advance Assurance is not mandatory, it is recommended for all companies planning to raise under SEIS or EIS.
There are two separate steps in the S/EIS process, and they're available on different plans:
Advance Assurance — included free on Carta Launch. Prepare your AA application directly in your Carta account. Once submitted, it can take up to 4–6 weeks to hear back from HMRC.
SEIS1/EIS1 compliance certificates — included with Build. Once your round closes, we'll help prepare your S/EIS1 application. Once submitted, HMRC typically responds within 4–6 weeks.
The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme is designed for seed-stage funding only, while the Enterprise Investment Scheme caters to later-stage startups.
