In April 2026, when Carta first launched Carta Plugins for Claude—embedding funds’ live performance, financials, and compliance data directly into the AI workspace where teams already work. Nuwa Capital tried it the same day. By week two, they’d built custom LP diligence automation, cutting hours of repeat work to minutes. This is what happens when fund operations finally catch up with how teams actually work.
Nuwa Capital is a GCC-focused venture firm founded in 2020 with offices in Dubai and Riyadh. The founding team spent the previous decade backing companies like Careem, Insider, and Tabby at earlier firms before setting up with Nuwa Capital. It now runs two funds: Fund I in harvest mode, and Fund II actively deploying.
But the story didn’t start in April 2026. It started five years earlier, when Nuwa Capital chose Carta before the firm had boots on the ground in the region.
Three reasons why Nuwa Capital keeps choosing Carta
When Nuwa Capital set up Fund I in 2021, Carta had no Middle East team. Nuwa Capital went with it anyway, on the view that over a ten-year fund the quality of the product would count for more than having local people in year one.
Three things tipped the decision for Nuwa Capital:
Carta’s global credibility with institutional LPs running operational due diligence on an emerging fund
A network ERP system holding fund administration, cap tables, and portfolio data in one place
Carta’s product roadmap and active investment into AI and automation
“We picked the one whose product made sense to use without anyone selling it to us,” says Arnav Danthi, principal at Nuwa Capital. “That call has compounded since.”
Five years on, Carta built a regional team in the Middle East and has been actively servicing funds in the region ever since. “With Carta, it’s moved from a vendor relationship to a true collaboration,” Arnav says.
Two funds, two operating rhythms
Running a fund in harvest mode alongside one that is actively deploying is where operation gets tested. The two carry different LP bases, reporting cadences, capital call mechanics, and fee terms. Carta’s infrastructure proved reliable across both.
Capital calls and LP management
Nuwa Capital’s capital calls run from a single Carta ledger with automatic routing to each LP. This means zero duplication and faster turnarounds. When LPs ask for NAV estimates mid-quarter, Nuwa Capital commits to concrete delivery dates. Every document, data update, and statement flows directly to LPs through the Carta LP Portal in minutes.
Audit support
When Fund II’s year-end audit in 2025 raised a query requiring a waterfall analysis for a newly launched fund, Carta’s team built it and exported the file directly into Nuwa Capital’s audit filing without requiring back-and-forth validation.
When AI changed the equation
In April 2026, Carta launched Carta Plugins for Claude connecting funds’ Carta data directly to Claude so teams can query fund data and build analyses without leaving their AI workspace. Nuwa Capital tried it the day it launched and ran its first query on Claude the same day. From there, Nuwa Capital used it consistently everyday and became the most active user of Carta Plugins for Claude.
The impact was immediate, particularly in finance. Nuwa Capital’s finance team caught an unsupported true-up on a management fee computation and fixed it before it was booked—by walking through the underlying contract clause-by-clause against Carta’s workbook in a single Claude session. “The same exercise that used to consume half a day of back-and-forth across spreadsheets and email threads. Now it runs end-to-end in a single query,” says Arnav.
But the larger shift is in LP diligence. Hours of repeat work per quarter now compress to a single review pass. Nuwa Capital has built its own skills on top of Carta Plugins for Claude that auto-populate LP due diligence questionnaires directly from Carta’s data: fund-level performance, capital deployed by stage and sector, concentration metrics, top positions—all benchmarked against Carta’s vintage data. The team is already stress-testing this on live LP requests during Fund II’s close.
Arnav’s advice to other fund managers
Five years with Carta shaped how Nuwa Capital thinks about building an AI-native fund.
Arnav’s advice: Pick a vendor whose product you would use even if you didn’t have to, then back the roadmap. He points out that institutional fund admin doesn’t move quickly and, “the firms that will matter in ten years are the ones doing the real work in automation now.”
For Nuwa Capital, that’s already happening. Fund II’s close is running on infrastructure that didn’t exist two years ago, where LP diligence questionnaires populate in minutes, audit queries are resolved in hours, and a finance team that spends its cycles on founders and investors rather than spreadsheets. The operational baseline has shifted, and it continues to shift as Carta’s AI capabilities mature.
