LinkedIn: Fintech Has Fallen Out of Favor With Startup Investors

Fintech has fallen out of favor for startup investors of late.

The industry saw three consecutive quarters with over $7 billion raised across all Carta companies.

Last quarter? Less than $1 billion.

That's comparable to 2017 (when there were far fewer fintechs using Carta cap table).

Other industries saw major reversals last year, to be sure - but fintech may have experienced the most severe whiplash of any of them.

Silver lining: investment into seed-stage fintech is down substantially less than late-stage. Perhaps there's another boom time round the corner (in 20...25? 🤷)
