LinkedIn: Which Startup Industries Lead in Each Key State

Which startup industries hold the top spots in key states?

Aggregated the total capital invested across all Carta cap table customers in 2022 for 7 key venture capital states. A few key points about the industry breakdown:

1. SaaS reigns. SaaS received the most funding in 5 of 7 key markets last year.

2. Biotech has a second home outside the Bay in MA.

3. Florida doesn't have a real dominant startup industry - yet (maybe web3 in the future?) 4. Consumer is 4th in almost every key market.

5. Healthtech moved up this list from last year in 3 states.

6. Everyone says hardware doesn't get funding - but it makes the top 5 in many mature VC ecosystems.

Which sector will dethrone SaaS in the coming years?
