Friday Q&A - when will the layoffs in startup world end?
We got this question (or forms of it) quite a few times over recent webinars and newsletters.
Wish I had better news to report. But as of last month, things were still very choppy out amongst Carta's 35,000 startups.
The chart below shows the number of companies by month with 25 or more "involuntary" employee departures. Really stunning to see some months have 1 company affected in this way in the summer of 2021.
Recently, around 100 companies a month using our cap table platform have seen that level of employee exodus.
