LinkedIn: Bay Area vs NYC for VC-Backed Startups Who Leads

Lots of debate this weekend on Bay Area vs NYC - who leads in venture capital?

According to our Carta data, the Bay maintains a healthy lead in total dollars invested over New York City (includes the 5 boroughs).

Floating right along at a 70/30 split, basically.

However - if you zoom into SF vs Manhattan, things are getting spicier. Close to 50/50 in some recent quarters!

Of course, the major pattern is the decline in total investment into all of these locations since 2021. The venture spring has not yet sprung.
