Free Startup Compensation Data Launches Today at Carta

A new best friend for startup job seekers - free, accurate data on salary and equity across thousands of startup roles.

Beyond excited for this to go live! We created Friend @ Carta to solve a real headache for folks trying to find jobs at startups.

Figuring out whether your offer is “in market”—or even what you should be expecting in the first place—is super challenging.

But we can help. Our data contains no self-submitted surveys. No out of date Glassdoor guesses. No relying on secondhand stories.

Instead, we’re serving up compensation bands created using aggregated and anonymized data from thousands of startups alongside the most comprehensive equity database anywhere in the world.

So how does Friend @ Carta work?

All you’ll need to do is navigate to carta .com / friend and type in the role you’re applying to (or in process for). You’ll then narrow down the other factors like location and company valuation.

Hit submit and fresh compensation data will magically appear!

Now, a couple caveats:

You can only submit for one role per day, so give a little thought to which role you’d like to see most if you have a couple in mind.

You may not find your role available yet, as we’re only going live with a core set of startup functions like engineering, product, sales, etc. If you discover your role isn’t included, please let me know! You can reach us at friends @ carta . com

This data covers salary and equity - but compensation is more than that. Don’t forget about any incentives such as bonuses, commissions, benefits, or perks that may be part of the offered package.
