Studio Ghibli-style AI remixes of charts prompted reflection on how AI will change data storytelling—the question isn't if but how fast creators can adapt.

LinkedIn: AI Image Remixing Is About to Transform Data Graphics

Your content, my content, all content is about to be remixed and reimagined constantly.

As everyone on X spent yesterday creating Studio Ghibli-fied versions of their favorite memes and selfies, it struck me that this will also change the infographics world I live in day to day.

Is it perfect? No, no definitely not. Numbers are wrong, placement isn't quite right, etc. But I didn't prompt beyond a one-sentence line and I'm sure with some time and attention it could get very close.

Stuff you could probably do now:

  • Extract numbers from chart segments that have no labels

  • Rebrand graphics into different company styles with little effort

  • Mix in your own ideas as overlays on top of existing graphics

I used to get pretty heated about folks using my content without attribution - but is that frustration wasted in a world where image remixing is so simple?

If it doesn't come with the Carta logo, we didn't make it 😅
