LinkedIn: Building an Insights Function Averages Two Press Mentions Per Week

Side benefit of building an insights function at your startup - it can be a PR engine.

In the last 2 years or so, we’ve averaged 2 mentions of Carta data in the press per week.

Just this past week, our State of Startup Compensation Report was cited in WSJ, FT, and by my favorite TechCrunch podcast Equity (shoutout to Alex Wilhelm).

Not saying this is an effortless process - it definitely helps to have an agency keeping tabs on various reporting beats and good relationships with key journalists.

But the data itself is already there! You can use it to build brand in earned media alongside every other channel.

And the newsletters/podcasts/influencer spaces can be just as impactful as the branded media outlets.

Build data once, use it everywhere 🙏
