New ranking of the top startup ecosystems in the US - top 5 things to know.

Data by metro area, includes $90+ billion in priced round investment over the last 12 months on Carta. Ecosystems must have 10+ rounds to be included.

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 π—§π—΅π—Άπ—»π—΄π˜€ π˜π—Ό π—žπ—»π—Όπ˜„

1. Bay Area still holds the lead - and over this 12 month period it came in first place across all 6 of the highlight industries. Don't bet against Silicon Valley.

2. NYC has pulled away from LA and Boston to hold a strong second (and in total round counts it's a bit closer to the Bay).

3. LA is top 3 in Consumer (as expected) and Hardware (a new strength).

4. Boston is for Biotech, sure, but also SaaS and Healthtech and even some Fintech.

5. Austin spikes in Hardware but strong across the board.
