AI's rising share of VC capital has never been so consensus-driven—either VCs are right and AI transforms everything, or this is the most expensive...

LinkedIn: Every VC Now Has the Same Thesis AI Will Eat Everything

For a supposedly contrarian group of folks, VCs seem to all agree on a single thesis these days: AI is gunna eat everything.

A greater and greater share of capital invested into startups is being reserved for AI companies. Not sure if we've ever seen this sort of increasing focus on a single theme across VC...ever?

So, one of two things will likely happen:

𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔 VCs are right, AI transforms basically every software category (and quite a few hardware ones as well) and the world as we know it shifts.

𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕 VCs are mostly wrong, AI doesn't deliver on the expansive vision promised (at least not close to the current timeline) and...youch.

Or, of course, Option C - we just stop talking about whether a startup is "AI" or not and we assume if you're building software you're doing so using / incorporating / predicating on AI.

If there are VCs trying to invest into non-AI software companies...would love to read your takes!
