LinkedIn: Where Is Early Stage VC Cash Going in 2023

Follow the money - where is early-stage VC cash going this year?

We all know the water pressure on the VC faucet has been turned way down so far in 2023, even for seed and Series A rounds.

But where across the US can founders still look for that VC capital? Surprisingly, the number one answer has been Middlesex MA, home to Cambridge.

Now some of that leading position is down to the analysis unit. If I had aggregated up from counties to more amorphous categories like "Bay Area", then the traditional VC ecosystem out in CA would maintain the lead.

But it's refreshing to see San Francisco have some real challengers for the top spot! Looks like the biotech strength in MA is responsible for a lot of early-stage startup investment.

Shoutout to a few newcomers to this list - Montgomery County in MD and Mitchell County in NC.
